Hi! My name is Elaine Kollar, This website was created as a place to share my photos with family and friends. It's difficult and time consuming to email them to each person separately. This way, if someone wants to see my pictures, they can visit this website. Perhaps they too will want to share some photos with me. I'm also open to making new friends and I welcome comments and helpful suggestions from everyone who ventures onto this site.
Over the years my love of recording events with a camera has given me a wonderful way to remember the past. Many times when I think about holidays, vacations or other events, I see them as snapshots which either I or someone else took. If I want my memory refreshed , I look for the photo of that time!
I'm old enough to have received a Kodak Brownie camera one Christmas. (I wish I had a picture of that!) I now have a Nikon Digital SLR D90 with a Nikkor 18-105 mm lens and a Nikkor 70-300 mm lens. After going through numerous low end tripods, I turned to an OSN carbon-fiber tripod with a ball socket pan head. It’s not perfect but I think it’s going to outlast the others.
There is so much more for me to learn about my camera and photography in general. Sometime in the near future I would like to take some photography courses. For now, I take a lot of pictures hoping a few of them will be stunning. A subject which I can't resist is sunrises/sunsets. I dream of living on a hill were I have a 360 degree uncluttered vista! My other favorite photo subjects are family especially our two granddaughters, landscapes, plants, birds, wild animals and insects.
My husband Richard and I love to travel. He is fairly patient when I'm taking pictures as we sight-see. He even likes to "direct" my pictures at times! Richard says his job is to carry my tripod.
Other things I like to do are attend concerts, musicals, and movies, read, garden, (especially flowers), and sell on eBay. I also enjoy editing my pictures.
Many thanks to my son Denny for all the hours he has spent designing this amazing website. He unveiled it as one of my birthday gifts last year and I was really touched! Thanks Denny, for all of the hours you have spent and will continue to spend on this website! Denny's website design link is Vimsoft.com.
